Why Amarli Army was created...
Welcome to the Amarli Army... What started as the Amarli Foundation has now evolved into Amarli Army—a united force dedicated to making a difference. Our mission is clear: to raise funds and provide support for children and families in need. We stand stronger than ever, working alongside incredible organizations like the i98FM Illawarra Convoy Community Charity and the Cure GRIN Foundation to bring hope and relief to those who need it most. Amarli’s Story Amarli Broome, a little warrior from Wollongong, NSW, has shown extraordinary strength in the face of immense challenges. Born in April 2018, Amarli was a picture of perfection, but within months, her parents, Jade and Lee, faced the heartbreaking reality that their daughter’s journey would be far from ordinary. Diagnosed at just eight months old with GRIK2, an extremely rare genetic disorder, Amarli’s condition affects her ability to walk, speak, eat, and breathe. She battles epilepsy, motor skill impairments, and severe respiratory issues, requiring 24/7 care. Despite these hardships, Amarli has defied expectations—learning to sit after being told she never would and lighting up every room with her radiant smile. The past year has been particularly difficult, with deteriorating lung function leading to long hospital stays and an increasing reliance on medical support at home. The emotional and financial strain on the Broome family has been immense, but they continue to fight for Amarli’s future, holding onto the hope that gene therapy could one day change her life. Our Mission With Amarli’s journey as our driving force, Amarli Army is committed to supporting families facing similar struggles. We focus on:- Raising funds to assist families with medical and daily living costs. Supporting research through organizations like the Cure GRIN Foundation in pursuit of treatments and cures. Backing local children’s hospitals including Sydney Children’s Hospitals at Randwick & Wollongong. Partnering with the i98FM Illawarra Convoy to make a tangible difference in our community. Amarli's Progress
After spending a large part of her 7 years either in Wollongong or Randwick Kids hospitals, Amarli was making great progress until August of 2023 whereby she deteriorated with severe respiratory issues. She spent two days at home over xmas but ended up back at Sydney Kids. Amarli is now at home being cared for by her dedicated parents Jade & Lee, extended family, expert army of medical specialists, physiotherapists and carers Steph & Sarah, who are all working together as a team and cheering her on...

ILLAWARRA I98FM CONVOY
Get on Board !
With this initiative, our goal is to promote opportunities for those in need by assisting local charities like i98 fm's Convoy. i98fm radio's Illawarra Convoy provides much needed funds for childrens' families and recently donated $4.5 million dollars to Wollongong Hospital Kid's ward for improvements. Kids ward have been like Amarli's 2nd family. We are deeply committed to assisting organizations like Convoy who are doing great things in local communities. Learn more about i98fm's Convoy
